this isn't a pro republican or pro Democrat question , I'm just wondering , honestly who does stand the best chance of winning , not who you want to win

  1. considering you have easily riggable voting machines built by republicans, and Cheney doing his best to start yet another war before his term is done, Id say very slim.

Actually, Im fully expecting the Repubs to assassinate Obama long before the election.

  2. I''d say it is about 50-50 right now.

  3. Energy and the Economy are the biggest issues. Providing low cost energy is vital to our economy and the ability for middle and low income Americans to achieve the American Dream. The Green Movement has too much pull in the Democratic Party and this is going to cause them to lose big in November. The Environment is important, but there are over 60 billion people on earth that rely on cheap affordable energy to survive.

  4. 50/50

  5. At this point, it's 50/50.  I think the Republicans actually ruined any chance of total victory once McCain announced his VP selection.

There is a reason Hillary did not get the Democratic nomination.  I'll say it, it's because she's a woman.  I'm going to vote Republican regardless, but selecting a woman may have hurt McCain and the Republicans.

Seems like this whole election is a circus of who wants to be a first in the oval office.  The Presidency and Vice Presidency are not positions America should worry about setting records for "firsts" in.

  6. Poor.  Obama got the nomination by out-Lefting Clinton, and because of her "negative numbers" (the people who would vote for the Devil rather than Hillary).

Now that Obama is the nominee he has to somehow convince the country he isn't the Marxist he said he was when he was competing for votes with Hillary in the primaries.

McCain will win with a combination of moderate Republicans and moderate Democrats. The far-left will vote for Obama but it won't be enough to win.

  7. ID say 60/40.... They are far better organized this cycle.. they have had 12 years to plan.

  8. I'd put their chances at about 20%.

The issue is always decided by the swing voter.  There are too many distractors against Obama for these people to vote for him.

Most Americans are very patriotic and swing voters are no exception.

  9. I really don't know yet.

It seems it all depends on what the American people are focusing on as the most important issues.

Sadly though, that ends being determined by the media and the politicians that tell us what we "want" to hear, not what we should hear.

Given the fact that the "focus" seems to be on:

--A "miserable" economy ( when in fact it is not miserable, it is slowing down and some, very small some, are facing difficulties. Not even a recession )

--And my personal favorite -- The "McSame" concept.

It seems that the Dems are putting all their eggs into the " I hate Bush" basket.

It does worry me that people will vote along with that concept.

Rather like driving while looking in the rear view mirror.

Other than the budget, all the "badness" of the Bush administration is all opinions derived from emotional, not objective thought.

Considering how strong that is now, I'm going to say 55-60% chance the Dems will take the White House.

  10. not sure, but it goes lower and lower every day.

  11. 70%.

  12. 70/30 in Obama's favor

  13. They really just started with this election so as of right now I give it a 50 50 shot. Just to let you know, I am a conservative and will be voting for McCain.
