is being vegitarian good for your health, and how ? can you loose weight and can you eat fish?

  1. it all depends... you can be a vegetarian and be heavy becuse it's easy to replace the protein with carbs and load up on pastas and pizza.  if your a healthy veg though you tend to lose weight and be skinnier.  i just ate a bag of doritos... vegetarian does not equal perfect you still need to eat right.  

    you can eat whatever you want of course but if you are going to use the label vegetarian that does not include any meat which means fish.  it is fairly common though to see vegetarians who eat fish.  the technical label is pescatarian.

    Yes and no.

    Yes if you are a smart eater.

    No, if you still live off of junk foods and coffee etc.

    Losing weight has to do with wither starving yourself, or exercising and teaching your body to use your energy instead of storing it.

    Since I was doing intensive training as a bicycle racer at the time of my changeover, I was already at optimum weight... therefore I lost no weight at all.  As I said before, it will depend on your current level of exercise, that is, your metabolism, and the quality of your food too.  What do I eat?  Anything and everything that is vegan and healthy.

    Sure, whatever you say.  As I said, there are no rules, no papers to sign, no membership card... it's your life, do what you want.  But, go to the library and read read read everything, and don't believe anything you read.

It can be good for your health, but you need to be careful not to eat too many starches.  A lot of first-time vegetarians end up eating a lot of bread, pasta, and so on -- that can really pack on the pounds.  A well-balanced vegetarian diet is low in fat, and high in whole grains, vegetables and fruits.

    You can't eat fish and be a vegetarian.  If you cut out red meat and poultry but still eat fish, you're a pescetarian.

    cut down calories and carbohydrate diets in ur veg dishes.

    Drink olenty of water and eat fishes only occasionally.

  6. No u cant eat fish, it's still eating an animal. Not good for your health because u need meat in ur diet, but i guess it is okay.

    no cream from cow

    no cow cheese

    NOTHING that comes from an animal because vegitarians believe that animals are the same as humans. so it's not just about not eating meat.

    it's not just eating but a lifestyle too

    you can't wear leather or anything that was made by killing an animal because what's the point of not eating meat but wearing a dead horse on your back??

    yes, at first, you do lose weight because your not eating meat and that's a main source of saterated fat.

    but you have to be carefull and not eat french fries and stuff like that.

    and you eat alot of fruit and vegitables. i lost weight, but i didn't go veggie becasue i want to lose weight, but because i love animals.
