The Belarusian hockey athletes have qualified for the final of the EuroHockey Nations Championship II as they battered their French opponents 5-0 in the first Women’s semi-final of the event played at University of Physical Education, Ul Krolowej Jadwigi
in Poznan, Poland on Saturday, August 13.
The game was played at a high tempo and pace where the Belarusian women remained the more dominant partner as compared to their French opponents. The Belarusian ladies exhibited good skills and stick work throughout the match which was pretty entertaining
with six goals, all from the Belarusians.
They remained clinical throughout the match and played a very balanced hockey by scoring three goals in the first thirty five minutes of the game while two in the second part. Along with attack their defence was splendid as they did not concede even a single
goal in the match.
They started the first half slowly and gained momentum gradually as the game moved forward. They created a number of good scoring opportunities in the early moments of the first half but their best came in the 13th minute when Krestina Kulinkovich
scored the opening goal on a penalty corner midway in the first half, thus put Belarus ahead of the opponents.
They doubled their lead with a fine style in the 25th minute when Krestina Kulinkovich, once again ticked the board but this time it was a wonderful field goal with an individual effort. The Belarusians continued with the same pace and momentum
as tripled their lead just three minutes after their second goal when Yuliya Mikheichyk scored an astonishing field goal in the 28th minute, that lasted till the interval with the score 3-0 to Belarus.
The second half also depicted the same picture in the favour of the Belarusian women who once again dominated the second half like the first one by scoring a double strike. They scored at the same rate as early in the game and brought the result fourth time
in their favour in the 43rd minute when Volha Shyntar scored their first strike in the second half and further strengthened their lead towards the end.
In the remaining time the Belarusians continued to increase pressure on their opponents and made a number of circle penetrations which brought the result in their favour in the ending moments of the match when Yuliya Mikheichyk scored her second and last
goal of the match in the 61st minute that lasted till the end. The match concluded at 5-0 in the favour of Belarus who qualified for the final of the event.
