Beleaguered Dhoni gets Azharuddin's backing - Cricket News Update

Azharuddin said the incumbent is suitable for captaincy in all the three formats of the game and there is no need for a change in leadership at the moment.
Speaking to media reporters on Tuesday, the former Indian captain said that the 30-year-old Ranchi cricketer is a good player and worthy of captaincy, adding that calls for change are ill timed.

He further added that winning and losing is part of the game and hoped to see his compatriots come back to the winning track soon.
"Cricket is a game of uncertainty. Wins and losses are part of the game, which brings a team under pressure. But Team India's performance will definitely be better in the coming days," Azharuddin said.
India has lost eight successive Test matches away from home, prompting former cricketers and pundits to call for Dhoni’s head. Four out of the eight losses were by an innings, and in the other four they were convincingly beaten.
Azharuddin said that after succumbing to two successive Test series whitewashes away from home, the wicketkeeper batsman might be under pressure but that does not mean that he should be dropped from the side.
