Belen Mozo's game now better than ever before
Spanish Belen Mozo, who started her rookie year in the 2011 season, has improved quite a lot lately as she is now in a stronger position than ever before.
Having risen to prominence through the Symetra Tour, Mozo has now become one of the fast-learning LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) contenders — and she has shown in the recent events
that she is capable of making a name for herself in pro golf.
The Navistar LPGA Classic 2012, which is one of the most prestigious LPGA tournaments, and best known for featuring topflight stars, saw the Spanish golfer put her maximum effort and record
a much better finish than before.
Mozo fired an overall score of 279 to steer clear of tough opposition from her nearest rivals. However, she would have done even better if she had not marred her scorecard in the third round
that saw her shoot a 73.
The second and fourth round went well as the LPGA star looked confident and carded a 68 each to further consolidate her position on the leaderboard.
Other tournaments that went well include Kia Classic 2012 and Kraft Nabisco Championship 2012. At Kia Classic 2012, Mozo looked fiery as she finished tied for the 43rd position
on the leaderboard.
Observers had said that finishing 43rd might not have helped her earn much, but she gained plenty of confidence.
“I started getting my 3-wood on the fairway, and that was it. I started making birdies. I played really good just to finish with a bogey. It's a really tough hole. Tried to lay up from the
rough, and my ball spun too much on my third shot. It's overall a really good round, so I'm really happy,” Mozo had said at the end of the first round of Kia Classic 2012.
“I think I've improved a lot, not only mentally, but gamewise”.
However, the key question that has been raging since the Navistar LPGA Classic 2012 is that how the young prodigy will fare against competitors at the coming events. So far, she has told the
world that winning on the LPGA Tour is her biggest concern right now, but will have to improve her game a bit more if she wants to record even better finishes in the next season.
