Belgian Kim Clijsters refuses to talk targets for rest of the year
Currently ranked no. 2 in the world, Kim Clijsters, of Belgium came out triumphant against China's Li Na to clinch the 2011 Australian Open Women's singles title.
Na thrashed Clijsters in the first set, taking it 6-3. After which, Kim hardly wasted any time to come back and take the second set 6-3, followed by the deciding third set 6-3 to upset Li.

Kim recently bagged the 2010 U.S. Open Women's singles title and taking the 2011 French Open title could improve her chances of winning all four grand slams. However, Clijsters refused to talk targets after starting the year off with an Australian Open win.

"I am not going to sit here and say that wouldn't be nice but to be honest I haven't really thought about it. It's a little early to already think ahead and focus on those kind of things. I have been really focused on this last month so I was ready for the
Australian summer and now I need a break from setting goals. But obviously the French is a Grand Slam where I would like to do well, as I would at all of them. But I am just excited I won this one", said Clijsters.

In spite of the fact that Kim bagged the Australian Open title, it is arguable that Li Na has made more of an impact. Na came to be the first ever Chinese professional to make it through to a grand slam final.

Na stated, "I am happy [with] what I do today. So I am proud of myself. I won't tell everyone. I just go back, you know, because I don't want many media, many fans to come in. Also I just want -- February 3 is Chinese New Year -- so I want to take total time
with the family. Because always travelling the world, you really don't have time with the family, with friends. So I just want to take time for myself, not for the republic".

Furthermore, in terms of her plans for the rest of the year, Clijsters said that she is not really thinking in that way yet. She added that it would probably happen after the Fed Cup when she is home for a few weeks. Kim said that after that she will probably
have the time to sit together with the team and look at the schedule for this year.
