Believe it or not, Ryder cup is being commemorated by a Church!

If you think “believing” is a weird word, then ‘need’ is weirder. They say calling for something with a full heart brings you closer to God. It makes you believe, it makes you want to do the craziest things possible.
The Ryder Cup is just a few days away and many who are avid golf followers are highly excited about it. Then there is another category of fans that live, eat, breathe golf and they aren’t just excited, they want to thank God for
it.
According to the latest reports, a service will be led from a Church that is situated on a golf course in England. This service will be led by the Archbishop of Wales, Dr Barry Morgan which will be held on the 26th of
September in a small stone church. This is the St. Peters Church and is situated on the land that is close to the St. Pierre Golf Club. This honoured piece of land is in Chepstow and is on the site of the former parish and hamlet at the same time.
Dr. Morgan wants to avail this chance and is aiming to cover two basic points. One is to commemorate the Ryder Cup event and second is to express gratitude to God for making us whole as a person, as an individual with a mind, body
and soul. According to Dr. Morgan, this is a good chance to venerate a great competition like the Ryder Cup.
The site, that was renovated in the 13th century and was formerly a Norman Church, will be holding the service just two days before the biggest contest at the Celtic Manor which is due on the 1st of October.
The service will include the director of Welsh Christian Golf Society, The Rev john Hall. He held the Ryder Cup formerly which was presented by Sam Ryder to the Golf Society dating 25 years back, even before the Ryder cup match
was founded.
It is human nature to be anxious in any competition and it is obvious that a man of any religion or belief would walk towards his divinity and beg for honour. There aren’t many that would disagree with the previous statement and
neither does Dr. Morgan. He says that players offer prayers anytime between the bunkers and the greens or before it. This is done throughout the country but a chapel actually being situated on the course isn’t something that is seen throughout the country.
