Belize or Cozumel for snorkeling?

Which of these two destinations has more to offer to the average snorker?

Recently went snorkeling off Ambergris Caye in Belize with my son - we both had a great time!  Have not been to Cozumel so I can not comment there.

It depends where you go in Belize. If you go to the Ambergris Caye, you will be snorkeling on the 2nd largest barrier reef in the world.

Cozumel is great for the average snorkeler. Do an boat excursion if you go to Cozumel. Some of the reefs were damaged in the hurricane Wilma. They are coming back but the captain of these boat excursions know where the healthy reefs are.

Cay Caulker Belize has several different snorkel tours available. I have been to both and by far Belize is the best with more to offer.
