Belkin N wireless router problem?

Question

I am having a strange problem with my router. It is a Belkin N wireless router. It has worked pretty well, up until the other day, when in the middle of the day, the internet light on the router just shut off and the modem light on the router started flashing orange. I turned off the modem and then the router says it can find the modem but the internet light does not light up then when turned on the problem happens again it doesnt pick up the modem. Neither my wired connection or wireless internet is connecting anymore. I've tried restarting the modem and router. Can anyone help me?

Strange.

My Belkin is about 4-5 months old...

And it has the SAME EXACT PROBLEM. I found out that patience works. But today my Router JUST TURNED OFF. NOPE IT WON'T EVEN TURN ON!

It won't even have flashing lights. No orange NOTHING. Not even color. I TRIED EVERYTHING! If you find the answer or anyone else reading please contact me via email.

Stupid $100 Router and it's cheap as p**p.

First, try restarting the modem and connect the computer directly to the modem via a cable. Make it a wired connection from the outlet, to the modem to the computer. If this doesn't work, then you'll know it's your modem and not your router. If the modem does work you get a connection while the computer is hooked up directly to your modem, then it's your router.

If it's the modem that's the problem then you're going to want to contact the internet service provider if they provided you with the modem.

If you purchased the router and modem yourself, and either of these are the problem, check their manufacturer websites for troubleshooting help. =)

Had the same issue with a Belkin. Ended up just replacing it with a Linksys. You might want to see if there's a firmware update. Otherwise, I'd recommend replacing it.
