Belkin Router Help Please

Question

I was trying to connect a laptop to my pc and changed the configuration of my belkin router so that it was an access point, now I have lost the connection on my laptop and cannot get to the belkin page again using the number to change it, it will not work, Is there a different number I can use to get back to the configuration page for the router? All I get is the broadband connection isnt working because the is an invalid service name or something :S

I bought one then took it back as it was rubbish. Netgear all the way.

You need to attach your Ethenet cable from your laptop to your Belkin Router.  (Ethenet cable is the cable with the 'phone' type connections on either end - it doesnt have a usb or anything, just looks like something your phone has on the end of it)

When you have done this - in the main menu bar at the very top of your laptop put in your number and then the Belkin page will come up.

first you need a wired connection to your belkin. LAN cable

1. connect it to your LAPTOP and to your BELKIN router

2. open a web-browser(FIREFOX or INTERNET EXPLORER) and type on the address bar.( \\192.168.2.1 ) , and your belkin configuration page will appear.

3. set your belkin to act as a router(DHCP), so you can share your internet connection to your laptop and your PC.

try a reset on your BELKIN router.. Find the RESET BUTTON, usually a small button(need a pen to press it) and PRESS that button with a pen for 5seconds, and your belkin configuration will be reset. Password will be gone(if any), username is ADMIN.

Belkins are garbage! Return it for a LINKSYS! I spent hours on Belkin customer service 800 number and they couldn't activate TWO different routers after I exchanged the firsts one Then I returned it for a Lynksys and it took 5 minutes to hook up and worked perfectly. Linksys is maybe a few bucks more,but works instantly with very easily understood instructions!

I have the wireless G with speed booster and I have NEVER had a problem.

Try resetting your router  there should be a button or a tiny hole big enough for a pin say push it and that will reset your router. Hope this helps
