Belkin Wireless G router problem?

Iv had my belkin wireless router for awhile, and i got a new computer but never bothered to hook it back up, so i tried and everything goes well but when it checks the routers connection then it tells to reboot and the installer will start back up. well i did, but nothing starts back up. I tried running the disk again but that just restarts everything. please help.

  1. Are you connected with an ethernet cable while you are running the CD?

    If not, you have to be! Personally, I would ditch the CD and run the setup from the web browser interface. CD's always seem to mess up.

    You really can setup the entire router without the CD and you will learn more about how a router works as well. Check the manual for how, if you lost the manual, download it from Belkin. The default router setup page is at http://192.168.2.1 for nearly all Belkin units.  (Use a cable to connect  first!)
