Belkin54g router is causing internet to freeze up?

My belkin 54g router causes the internet to be slow, freeze up etc. Sometimes you have to click a link twice because it freezes, or keep refreshing the page. When you download something it keeps pausing or freezing too. I have 3 pc's all running different browsers and operating systems, (XP Vista IE Firefox etc) all up to date with windows update etc. Browsers are all latest versions too. All 3 pc's have the problem. When the router is taken out of line and the internet plugged directly into the lan port it works a treat. 2 of the pc's are connected to the wireless and one plugged into the back via network cable. Any one have an idea? I have spoken to other belkin54g users and 2 have the same problem. Any one have an idea? Thanks in advance

  1. I don't actually know but I use to have that same one and it did that all the time as well.  I ended up smashing it with a hammer and bought a Linksys.  Haven't had any problems since then.

  2. My father and his whole business had this exact router, and many of the same problems... I managed their network. So I would hazard a guess that you should get a new one. They're not very expensive anymore, you can get one for 50$, just get a tried and true one.
