Does she annoy anybody else other than me??

I mean I could stand her in the first book, but I am re-reading New Moon, and ugh, she is getting on my nerves.

She is sooo clingy, and boring, and her whole life is Edward.

Is it just me or does anyone agree that she is very annoying

  1. I think a lot of people have finally begun to hate her, but I began in New Moon just like you. I mean, in Twilight I could loosely relate to her (the whole blood thing and just being out of it and all) but by New Moon I wanted to reach my hand through the words and strangle her.

She completely uses Jacob, which is by the far the most annoying thing she does, knowing full well that he finds her attractive in more than a friend way. He wants to get friendly with her, if you know what I mean. And she's constantly whining about the hole in her heart and how much it hurts. Ooh, I was seriously thinking "Come here Bella and I'll show you pain" because she was annoying me to no end.

Basically, I read NM because of Jake. He's so charming in that book and he's a good friend. And if you continue onto Eclipse you'll probably throw the book across the room.

She's not a good example for impressionable teenage girls these days who seem to be influenced by the smallest things (though, gotta give them credit, they are smart) and some look at this as if it's real literature. Um, where are the real books? Why aren't they getting this kind of fan base? But then again, would we really want obsessive questions over another book?

And there is no plot. All the action, if it can be called that, takes place in the end lasting a total of about ten pages. Not even a whole chapter. It's just a bunch of descriptions, hyperventilating and whining.

And I had to add how she doesn't ever see Edward's flaws no matter how much like c**p he treats her. It's a dangerous messege to send out there to today's world. How she takes Ed back without getting mad at him? That made me sick. And she just dumps Jake like he was nothing to her, which he probably wasn't, then she expects him to care about her? Geez, girl doesn't have much going on upstairs does she?

  2. I only read Twilight, but I thought the whole book was way over dramatic (especially Bella) to the point where it was almost funny.  It was too long, poorly written, and just wasn't entertaining.

  3. No, I don't agree with you.  She is in love with Edward in New Moon and he left her.  She thought she would never see him again.  THAT is true love!  She was willing to die just to be with him.  There is nothing boring or annoying about love.

  4. Yes! She is so annoying!

I hate the fact that she doesn't socialize and how she her life IS Edward.. she's so dependent on him.  She should be more strong and independent.

  5. My thing with her is that she's always getting hurt and falling etc.  Geez, she hit her head how many times?? C'mon nobody is that accident prone!!!

  6. i COMPLETELY disagree with u.

bellas in love. of course shes going to care tht he left her. shes depressed because the person she loves most in the world is gone and she'll never see him again. I THINK ID B UPSET TOO!!!! she isnt making him her whole life either.

i guess ur not a true romantic. but hey, everyone is entitled to their own opinion :)

  7. I think that she can be annoying sometimes but the thing the stephenie meyer did is she made her like that in all the books but at the end of breaking dawn she made her come through for everyone else, she made her the savuier this time. if not for her they would have all died. So i think she was just building up to that the whole time

  8. She's an annoying, spineless twit.

  9. She's the reason I hate Twilight so much.

  10. nope, i don't think she annoying at all!!!

  11. She annoys me so, so, so much.  She's a bad example for girls all over the country.  She has no life outside of Edward, and when he leaves, she tries to kill herself.  Seriously, what girl is like that?

  12. She's pretty stupid sometimes. She's always like "You..made..me...faint". Like wtf, get over it sissy. She acts like everyone should take care of her but then she's like "No I'm fine!".

But, I admit I would be pretty depressed if a guy like Edward left me lol.

  13. no she's not ...can't wait to read New Moon

  14. I quite liked her in Twilight, but she started to get on my nerves in New Moon, with her eternal moping over Edward "Oh snap out of it, and get on with your life!" I wanted to say to her.

I agree that a man should not be your whole life, even in a novel.  And anyway, I thought the fact that she was totally devoted to Edward the whole time made the story a bit boring, it would have been more interesting if she had been more torn between him and Jacob, it would have given the stories more suspense.

However, I think the stories are so divorced from any contact with reality that most girls will (I hope) realise that life is not like that, and should not be.  I hope they will just read the books as escapist fun.

  15. i didnt get that at first, but when i re-read through the books i did kind of get that. She just seems a little pathetic at times, especially when it comes to being friends with jacob and decideding etc. But i do think that she is really in love with edward and as I have never been in love i have no idea what its like.

I cant wait to see what shes like in the film

  16. Her and Edward are overexaggerated versions of teenagers.

She is the stereotypical clingy, dull one track mind, teenage girl and Edward is the god-like, perfect in everyway, exaggerated fantasy many young girls have of guys.

The whole Bella/Edward relationship is pretty annoying.

  17. yeah she definitley annoys me. She annoyed me in the first book too. But it's a guilty pleasure series for me. I never really thought it was written all that well and Bella not having any kind of interest outside of Edward is REALLY unhealthy (obviously as we find out in New Moon) but something about it just kept me reading.

Also Edward isn't a great example as a boyfriend either, he's possesive and controlling especially when it comes to her relationship with Jacob. Yet all these little fangirls think he's the greatest thing since sliced bread....he's not.
