Bellamore Lad wins BELLE VUE STANDARD on Jan 19
Bellamore Lad, the son of Droopys Maldini out of Longton Queen, made a fantastic effort and won BELLE VUE STANDARD on Thursday evening, January 19, 2012.
The 470 metre long Grade Open Race (OR) started off at 20:58 (local time). In pursuit of £150 worth of cash prize, all contestants gave their one hundred percent.
However, Bellamore Lad, trained by H Adamson, emerged as the star of the show, clocking the distance in 28.71 seconds.
After leaving the sixth trap with the odds of 7 to 2, the black dog was crowded first, but his middle wide strategy guided him to a comprehensive 4 ½ lengths victory.
The triumphant hound was chased by Starmount Jake, whose covering time of 29.07 seconds helped him notch up the runner-up place.
The black and white dog, Westmead Diver’s son out of Jumeirah Sheba, began his run from first stand with the winning chances of 3 to 1. He also got crowded first, however, he saved himself by switching on the inside of the rack.
Ballyhill Becky, Westmead Hawk’s daughter out of Have A Fit, finished third on the chart. She was holding a good starting price of 2 to 1, breaking in from fifth trap.
The white and black b***h took 29.23 seconds to complete the race, beating the fourth placed hound by 3 ¼ lengths.
The third last position belonged to Miss Ada, Wheres Pedro’s daughter out of Shelbourne Dora. S. Mason’s trainee was one of the least favourite hounds in the race, holding the odds of 12 to 1.
However, her big achievement was to defeat Shelbourne Abi, the most favourite dog with the winning probability of 6 to 4. The black b***h reached the post in 29.49 seconds, a head’s distance ahead of Shelbourne Abi.
It was certainly a disappointing outcome for the fans. The black b***h failed to live up to expectations, making it to the finishing point in 29.51 seconds.
The last place went to His Own Business, the son of Killahan Phanter out of Scala Judy. With the odds of 12 to 1, the black dog commenced the show from second stand. He crossed the wire in 29.57 seconds, falling ¾ of a length adrift of Shelbourne Abi.
Bellamore Lad was outplayed by Starmount Jake in previous two races. However, Bellamore Lad performed brilliantly this time around, beating rest of the participants including Starmount Jake.
