Bellapais Abbey will break from Trap 1 when the action starts at 1:45 (GMT). The brilliant gelding is carrying immense momentum at the moment, thanks to his marvellous triumph in the last outing on March 23, 2012.
The six-year-old novice runner convincingly defeated 10 rivals in Roflow Environmental Engineering Maiden Hurdle at Sedgefield track.
Prior to this, the maverick horse had grabbed third spot in M W Entertainments Novices’ Hurdle at Market Rasen on March 11.
The talented sprinter beautifully earned runner-up rank in the maiden race of his career on June 24, 2011. Overall, he has run for seven times to date, earning £2,424 as prize money.
Bellapais Abbey will surely be able to make a big impact in tomorrow’s marathon provides he manages to capitalise well on his inherent capabilities.
Among the other runners, Dr Flynn and Swift Arrow are also likely to perform well in the race.
Dr Flynn also finished first in his last outing on March 13, 2012. As a whole, the Ann Hamilton-trained bay gelding has won 2 out his total 11 starts to date. He owns great confidence at the moment.
On the other hand, Swift Arrow too has just one triumph to his name. Donald McCain’s bay gelding elegantly clinched top spot in a race on October 30, 2011 after making his debut in March 2011.
It is anticipated that there will be a tough tug of war among the above three geldings. Bellapais Abbey will have to fight with his back to the wall in order to thrive. Good luck to all the runners.
