Belle Royale to continue with the unprecedented success by grabbing the Gamely Stakes
Attracting one of the most accomplished fillies is the Grade 1 Gamely Stakes (3YO+ Fillies & Mares) that will be staged at Hollywood Park over a mile and a furlong on turf. The race has assembled a line-up of eight three-year and older fillies for Tuesday,
29th May.
With the highest of chances to grab the £96,774 prize money is Belle Royale, Val Royal’s four-year-old bay/brown filly out of mare, Kahyasi Moll. The Irish filly claimed the last attempts of the previous season and thus bagged a hat trick.
She strode into the 2011 season by winning the Racing UK Stakes (Handicap) on 14th April at Beverley over seven and a half furlong. She went beyond the wire by a very narrow margin of half a length, escaping from the 5/4 favourite runner up of
the race, Common Touch.
Settling third was Kingscroft.
The next six races turned into an endless nightmare for the four-year-old who found it impossible to undermine the gloomy fate. However when she did finally win, Belle Royale did not miss any of the starts that came her way.
The under charge of Simon Callaghan started off with the hat trick by winning the Toteexacta Handicap on 20th August at Chester over seven and a half furlong. Riding with James Sullivan, the four-year-old led the track of fifteen by 1 ¼ lengths.
Finishing the closest was Below Zero while the 11/2 favourite of the race, Lowther, ended sixth.
Her second last success of the 2011 season was in the “Dressed Of Harrogate” Handicap at Thirsk over a mile on 3rd September. Leading by 1 ¾ lengths, the Michael Tabor owned cornered the 9/2 favourite of the race, Skilful, into the runner up’s
position.
Coming at terms with the third position was Good Boy Jackson.
Her third and final strike was in the Best Football Prices At Victorchandler.Com Handicap on 24th September at Chester over a mile and two and a half furlong. Even though she had won back to back before this, Belle Royale did not get entered as
the favourite. She did however set the 9/4 favourite, Mashaaref, at a disadvantage.
There can be nothing better than capturing the seasonal debut and stretching the streak to four by winning the race today.
