Bellflower Boy looking solid for Sean Magee´s Full Set Durham National at Sedgefield
The stage is set for Bellflower Boy to outpace his rivals in the Sean Magee´s Full Set Durham National (Handicap Chase), to be held at Sedgefield on Tuesday, April 03, 2012.
The 3m6f event is a great chance for the nine-year-old to regain his momentum, as he was below par last time out. The class 3 meeting will get underway at 16:30 GMT.
Eight quality runners are well prepared to show their magic on the track. Their names are: Bellflower Boy, Rey Nacarado, Belmore Baron, The Hollinwell, Night In Milan, Chamirey, Heez A Steel and Esme Rides A Gaine.
They will compete for a cash prize worth £6,330. The ultimate champion will not only earn winning prize but also a lot of respect.
In mid March, Bellflower Boy’s supporters came across with an embarrassing result. The gelding’s dismal performance came after a couple of brilliant shows.
The nine-year-old started off New Year with a convincing victory, sealing first position by staggering 21 lengths in the Whites of Coventry Scrap Metal Processors Handicap Hurdle.
After such a forceful triumph, the Dr Richard Newland-trained was expected to complete his hat-trick. However, he lost his direction, finishing seventh in the Pertemps Final (Handicap Hurdle) at Cheltenham.
To rub the sour memories of his Cheltenham defeat, the bay gelding will have to come up with something special. Rey Nacarado, who has been consistent since the start of his career, will be a huge threat on the racecourse.
Due to a lacklustre performance in the beginning of the race, his rider Andrew Tinkler had to pull up in the Betfred Grand National Trial (Handicap Chase) at Haydock in February.
Yet, nobody can forget his excellent act at the end of last year. On December 31, Charlie Longsdon’s trainee secured top position by three and a quarter lengths in the Betfred Mandarin Handicap Chase at Newbury.
Belmore Baron is a recent winner and thus, he cannot be overlooked. On March 23, the Sue Smith-trained seized top place by 12 lengths in the Free Horse Racing Bets With FreeBetting.co.uk Handicap Chase at the same venue.
The real clash will be between Bellflower Boy and Rey Nacarado, but Belmore Baron might appear with an upset.
