Bellosguardo looking for an upset in Country Farm And Seafood Novices´ Hurdle
Bellosguardo can spring up a surprise in the Country Farm And Seafood Novices´ Hurdle at Fontwell in England on Tuesday, December 11, 2012. He has never won a race in this format, but has got an opportunity of breaking the shackles this time around.
All of his opponents are currently in a similar position, as they lack experience of hurdling. Therefore, the competition will be an interesting one and the spectators will be looking forward to the start of action at 13:40 GMT.
A total of nine stallions will be competing over 2 miles and 4 furlongs in order to claim a cash prize of £2,534. They will have to put in a lot of hard work, as the going has become soft because of rain.
This will make the conditions testing and the contestants will have to be extremely careful in order to avoid an injury.
All eyes will be on Captain Bellamy, as he seems to be in a very good position to fight for a victory in the class-4 encounter. He will definitely get the attention of the punters, as they will be looking to win some easy money over him.
Although, the talented challenger has never appeared in a race over hurdles before, he will not be under much pressure today. He has got nothing to lose and will be giving his best shot at the end of the day.
However, the Hughie Morrison’s trained gelding might not be comfortable on a wet ground, which will give an opportunity to his rivals in the race. He has mostly done well under normal conditions and things will be a touch difficult for him at Fontwell.
Overall, his performances have been really good, as he has been victorious in four events out of 14 outings.
On the other hand, Bellosguardo has got more experience and he will not mind the track conditions today. He has participated in four hurdles and the best he could manage was a runner up position once.
The Kate Buckett’s trainee will be looking to take one step forward today and his partner, Mark Grant, will definitely help him to achieve his maiden victory in this format.
