Bellvano turns to be hot favourite for Members Novices’ Chase – Horseracing Update
Bellvano, an eight-year-old black gelding trained by Nicky Henderson, stands as hot favourite for today’s Kelso Members Novices’ Chase race which is set to begin at 2:10 on 2,1f Good To Soft course.
Four runners including Bellvano, Kings Grey, Laterly and Maggio are geared up to compete for big prize money worth of £8,123.
Both the bookmakers and Bettor.Com’s racing experts have regarded Bellvano as the top favourite horse whose chances to win are as higher has 80 percent.
The black gelding has been performing and winning consistently since the very beginning of his career in February 2009. The dashing runner finished first elegantly in his very maiden race.
The John P McManus-owned gelding won last on Mary 7, 2011. For the Madra Irish Dog Food Novice Chase, he was 7-2 favourite. He beat his eight potential opponents to stand victorious.
On January 18, 2012, Bellvano finished second in Zenergi Novices’ Chase at Newbury track with Cedre Bleu winning convincingly. Henderson’s trainee fought very well against three rivals.
Thus, this outstanding performance has worked as an instrumental force to install him at the top of the market for Novices’ Chase.
As a whole, the young runner has won 5 out of his 12 starts so far. His victories include 1 Chase and 2 NHF and Hurdle each. His total earning to date is £31,400.
Among other three runners, Kings Grey stands as the second favourite for today’s contest. The trainee of keith Reveley has been performing well since last six months.
After winning a race marvellously on November 11, 2011, the eight-year-old gelding finished 2nd in two and 3rd in one subsequent race. Totally, he has two triumphs to his credit.
Maggio stands third in the market. By grabbing his maiden victory on December 20, 2011, the Patrick Griffin-trained gelding established himself as a favourite. If he capitalises well on the momentum given by his first and last triumph, he can perform better
in today’s contest.
As far as Laterly is concerned, he has run for 35 times to date and accomplished 7 victories. After winning a race on December 22, 2011, he finished fourth on January 5 and second on January 20 in two different races. He is also likely to perform well today.
Currently, all eyes are hinged on Bellvano who is carrying heavy baggage of expectations and hopes. Let us see how he runs and what he achieves.
