Hi everyone.

I have been bellydancing for a while now in the UK (Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire area) and really want to join a troup ...does anyone know of one around here?

  1. I'm in the US, so I don't know personally, but you could look up instructors/dancers on websites.  Often they are a troupe director, are part of a troupe, or know of local troupes.

Some may have their own website and list upcoming performances.  You could go to watch them perform and try to speak with them afterward.  Belly dance troupes are usually quite happy to speak with people who are interested in the dance.  If there multiple troupes in your area, you might want to see as many perform as possible before choosing a troupe.  You would get a feel for the type(s) of routines they perform and whether or not it's what you'd enjoy.  You don't have to join the first troupe you find if it doesn't feel that it would be a good fit for you.  Remember you are interviewing them as well as they may be interviewing you.

    Good luck.
