Belt Burning out

Question

I have a 36" ride on mower. I've replaced the blade drive belt three times and I'm still have problems with the belt burning out while I'm driving the mower (not actually mowing). It seems to be burning out at the pulley attached to the engine. It is the same belt listed on the parts listing. I'm not looking forward to purchasing another mower. Does anyone have a good solution to fix this problem? Thanks
