Manchester United’s third choice keeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ben-Amos-c7439 has admitted that he is more than capable of playing against Chelsea, if neither of the other two keepers manage to get fit in time
Andres Lindegaard and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-de-Gea-c10463, both went on to suffer injuries in a training session recently and since then, the keepers are expected to be on the sidelines for an indefinite amount of time.
During their absence, Amos was asked to come in and play as United’s goal keeper against Stoke City.
The keeper managed to make a few tidy saves and kept a clean sheet in the game, but in all honesty he wasn’t tested much by Stoke.
However, should he end up starting against Chelsea, he can expect a completely different ball game.
Despite that fact, the young keeper is more than confident that he has just what it takes to start for United.
A very confident Ben Amos is quoted to have said: "I have been waiting a long time for an opportunity this season and thankfully it has come"
"I feel I am ready to play at this level and it has been kind of frustrating that these chances don't come around.
"But you have to be ready when something like that happens and you are thrown straight in and I like to think I made the most of it.”
The keeper then admitted that after keeping a clean sheet in his game, there wasn’t much more that he could possibly do. However, in the end it was the manager who decides who plays and who sits on the bench.
Amos ended by adding: "All I can do is keep a clean sheet and play the best I can when I get a chance, you have to do the best you can.
"It is the manager who makes the decisions and all I can do is put pressure on the other two any chance I get."
Amos looked quite lively in his appearance for United and seemed to be quite comfortable in goal.
Nonetheless, it is now up to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and United face each other in the Premier League.
