Ben Amos looking for a loan move from Manchester United
Ben Amos was given the opportunity of a life time, the 20-year-old goalkeeper made a surprise debut for Manchester United against Valencia CF in the Champions League. However, the youngster has spoken out, saying he wants a loan move to some other club so
he can gain more experience. Despite his young age, he was impressive in the European competition and Ferguson might not be too pleased with his request of a loan move.
Amos said he believed that experience was essential, he said while speaking to reporters,
“It is crucial for a young goalkeeper to get a good run of games. That is how you get experience. The only way of doing that is by going out and playing regularly somewhere. If it means me going out on loan somewhere, that might be great.”
The 20-year-old Manchester United stopper revealed that Sir Alex Ferguson had played a major part in his development and progress, he added,
“The manager told me what he thought of me at the end of last season, which was great motivation. I was grateful for that. When someone of the stature of Sir Alex Ferguson has that belief in you. It gives you great confidence.”
A move for Ander Lindegaard has been completed and the goalkeeper is set to join Manchester United from Aalesunds FK sometime next week. However, Lindegaard is planned to replace second choice goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak, since Manchester United are looking
to replace their first choice keeper Edwin Van der Sar. Amos is aware this makes his chances of a loan move out close to none, but he remained hopeful.
Amos was confident that he would benefit from a loan move, he continued, “I don't know what is going to happen with Tomasz or any other goalkeeper at the club. But, if I am being honest, a loan move is something I would like. I would benefit a lot from
it. Now that we are out of the Carling Cup there are fewer opportunities for me to play anyway and it could be just the thing to take me to the next level.”
