Newcastle United midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa insists that the next five games are highly crucial for the club and they must get maximum points from them.
The Frenchman has stressed on the importance of next week, and is hoping that the Magpies can manage maximum results in their next five games. This includes the away fixture against Brugge tomorrow and the visit of West Ham on the weekend.
Newcastle have still not managed to kick off their season, though they have managed some results in unconvincing fashion. The club failed to replicate the form that saw them finish in fifth place last season, and they struggled in the opening games due to
injuries to key players.
However, many of Newcastle’s first team starters have now returned and the club will be hoping to capitalize on this. Two weeks ago, the Magpies defeated West Brom at home in dramatic fashion, grabbing the victory in the dying minutes of the game through
a deflected goal.
This was followed by a tricky away trip to Anfield, where Newcastle had taken the lead early on through a ferocious http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Yohan-Cabaye-c37423 volley. They ended up conceding a late goal when Luis Suarez levelled the score courtesy of some individual brilliance.
Fabricio Coloccini had been sent off for a rash tackle, but Newcastle still managed to hold on with 10 men and grabbed a vital away point. This keeps their momentum running, and now they face a difficult away trip to Club Brugge in the Europa League.
Midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hatem-Ben-Arfa-c15884 has stressed on the importance of the next five teams as the team hopes to build on last season’s fifth place finish. Speaking to reporters, the Frenchman said:
“We have a big week ahead. First Brugge and then West Ham and we have to win both. If we win the next few games in the Premier League, we will move up the table.”
“There is West Ham and then Swansea. I think the next five games are very important.”
The player then went on to reveal his disappointment at Coloccini’s suspension for his reckless tackle on Suarez last week and added:
“It was the only bad part of the day. We have lost Colo and he is very important for us. It was the worst experience of the day to lose him.”
