Newcastle United’s prolific winger http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hatem-Ben-Arfa-c15884 revealed that he had no plans of switching clubs in the summer, but might be forced into consideration if he gets a lucrative offer from a bigger outfit.
The French international took everyone by the storm in the second half of the previous term, after recovering from an ankle injury that he sustained in the season’s preamble. In total, he represented the Magpies in 34 matches last season, netted seven goals
and also picked up seven assists during that period.
Newcastle signed the 25-year old from the French side Marseille in August 2010 initially on a one-year deal. However, his contract was later extended in view of his influential presence at the Sports Direct Arena, tying him up with the Tyneside club till
the end of 2015.
With the winger wreaking havoc with defences from time to time, it is no hidden secret that the Frenchman has drawn interest from multiple clubs from across Europe.
However, Ben Arfa indicated that he was currently having a great time at Newcastle, and will only be forced into thinking of parting ways with the Magpies if a massive club comes knocking on the door.
While talking to reporters, he said: “If I don't have a really very, very serious proposition, I will stay. If a big club comes but doesn't propose me something very exciting, which means the coach really wants me, I will stay.”
The talented winger, notable for making startling runs and his eye-catching dribbling ability, is also a part of the French squad for the ongoing European Championships.
Nevertheless, Ben Arfa pointed out that he will turn down an offer even from a top flight team, if the coach does not vest his trust in him and he currently plans on serving out the remaining three years left on his contract.
The winger suffered a serious leg injury during his first season at Newcastle, during a league match against Manchester City which kept him out of action for almost nine months.
However, Ben Arfa made a remarkable comeback into the playing eleven, quickly earning the plaudits of his coach and peers and subsequently won a place in France’s national squad. He admitted though that the path of his recovery was not easy.
He added, “My broken leg? I experienced very difficult moments. When your thigh looks like a calf and you have no more strength, I thought I was very far from the French team. I worked so hard to be back and, when I remember all that, today I am happy.”
