Newcastle United’s young French starlet Hatem Ben Arfa can’t wait for the new Premier League season to kick off and believes that the Magpies can challenge for the Premier League title.
The Tyneside club finished fifth last season and enjoyed one of their best seasons in the Premier League ever since the days of Sir Bobby http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Pardew will be looking to build on this success and possibly challenge for
the Premier League title.
Newcastle have come a long way ever since they got relegated from the English top flight in the 2008/2009 season. The club managed to find its way back to the upper reaches of English football after just one season away from it, grabbing the Coca-Cola Championship
along the way. Last season was the club’s second ever since they got promoted, and what a season it was.
The club signed the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Demba-Ba-c10812 and Papiss Demba Cisse, and the squad looked good on paper and even better out there on the pitch. The Magpies had a comprehensive and solid squad, which played really quick and incisive
football and managed to get results against the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hatem-Ben-Arfa-c15884 also had a very impressive individual season. The 25-year old played a key role in the team’s improvement and is targeting further success, both individually and with the club.
Speaking to the press, Ben Arfa said:
"Why can we not say we could be champions? All the players have stayed here. I think we have to have confidence as we have very good players.”
"Maybe if we feel very good, we can finish between fourth and first. Why not? Why can we not say we could be champions?”
"Anything is possible. We can challenge for it. We have good players, a good stadium and great supporters. I believe we can do what I say."
Ben Arfa had been linked with a move away from Tyneside, but has disregarded all transfer talk and added:
"I am very happy to stay here. I love this club and the supporters. I love them and they like me."
