  1. Then Andrew Johns should be stripped of all his medals and awards he got in his career because he openly admitted to using it his whole career

  2. this is a redicuous question

if cousins was on party drugs and alcohol he should be awarded an extra medal that would be a disadvantage

nah serisouly he wont it fair and square and imsure dal santo wouldnt want to be awarded the medal due to the fact it wouldnt be the same as winning it fairly.

  3. WHY????

    That was in 2005.

He deserved it then and still does now.

Unless he owns up and says otherwise we just have to leave it.

If he was taking drugs at the time, guilt will eventually step in like Marion Jones then he will own up if ever.

But until then ,he has and earned the Brownlow so we should leave it at that.

    Time will tell.

  4. No, he earned that medal, he earned those votes and he deserves to keep it.

Don't forget that all the public is seeing is what the media is publishing. And of COURSE they're going to publish what the people are wanting to read...we WANT him to be caught with drugs again, so that's what the media reports. Don't forget the influence that the media has over us, it's called selection and omission. Ben Cousin's shouldnt be condemned for his actions. He is most certainly not the first and wont be the last either.

He should keep it, and be proud of it.

  5. No

    Dont be stupid

  6. definitly not. kerr came second any way.

theres no prove to prove either of them were on performance enhancing drugs AT THE TIME.

  7. i think he's a true champion of the game despite what people say, he should be allowed to keep his Brownlow.

  8. You've got to be kidding!

He earned that medal fair and square!

    And that is my say!!!!!!!

  9. I feel you are one of those people, who hates to see people do well. You must have a an average life to be like this. I too have a average life and I am not rich and famous and I am not a high profile sportsman, but at least I am not always putting these types of people down. You must have a lot of jealousy building up inside of you, like many others.... you wish you can be in their position.

  10. The medal is his.

  11. No way.  You could only do that if you PROVED he had been on a performance enhancing drug at the time.  I think the guy's been through enough grief and more now.  Unless something new comes out I think he should be left well alone except by those who should help him.

Another interesting thing with the Brownlow is that you'd have to wonder who would have received the votes if Cousins wasn't playing.  Another Eagle?  They had a fairly good year!

  12. NO way and if did get stripped of it then it would go to Daniel Kerr the runner up for that year.

He was on recreational drugs and if we are going to get to picky did Australia ever win anything while Andrew Johns was playing for them then they should be stripped as well as  he was taking ecstasy.

  13. I agree 100% with those who have said ABSOLUTELY NOT.

I don't like cousin's .. I think he is a bloody stupid Git . I don't like the eagles either  BUT i don't think he should lose the brownlow

  14. NO NO NO NO NO!!!!! He earned that medal fair and square and he has the right to keep it

  15. If Cousins is going to be stripped of his Brownlow because of his drug use then Tony Abbott should be stripped of his ministerialship for smoking pot when he was younger...

  16. Proof, there is none. But what if?

If if and buts were candy and nuts we would all have a Merry Christmas.

Or, would of, could of, should of.

  17. rubbish,he earned the medal that year and was a camp who wasn't always a drug addict like he is now

  18. I agree with Rogue, unless it was proven that he was taking performance enhancing drugs at the time then you can't take it off him. Most recreational drugs are far from performance enhancing.

  19. No

He has never tested positive so how could you assume he was taking them at the time , although we all know he probably was.

  20. The response I would love to give is Yes... BUT..... the Brownlow is about being the BEST and FAIREST.

No denying that he was the best player, no doubt that his on field behaviour towards other players and umpires was "fair"  and without ill will, so finally did he have an unfair perfomance advantage?  I doubt it....as illicit drugs are supposedly detrimental to coordination, mental agility, and other areas necessary to peak physical performance and there was no evidence of actual performance enhancing drugs. If anything, he may have actually been handicapping himself by using the stuff. So on that basis I see no justifiable reason for claiming that he was NOT (a) the BEST player  or (b) the fairest (on ground) player.

So he should get to keep the Brownlow.

    Personally though...

He has broken the law (repeatedly), looks and apparently acts like a thug off field, and sets a shocking example to the young and impressionable kids that follow footy.  I would dearly love to ban him for life for his ongoing disregard of public law and order: disrespect for the AFL, his team and the footy public.

I would also love to take the brownlow off him to try to bring home to him the gravity of what he has done as it seems nothing else is working ... but  to be fair he hasnt broken any Brownlow rules (what a pity).

  21. you musta read the story in the newspaper with dal santos parents, it was stated that cousins should be stripped of his brownlow because he was using alcohol and drugs at the time and he should be unelegable, then come kerr who was second, and he was proved to be taking drugs at the time too so he was unelegable too, then dal santo who came third has a clean record, if they worked out kerr and cousins were on drugs earlier dal santo would be a brownlow medalist. i myslef would love to see dal santo win a brownlow because hes my favourite player, but i would like to see dal santo earn the brownlow fair and square and call it his own and not second hand! so my opinion is i'd love to see dal santo with cousins brownlow but i would like to see dal santo win a brownlow for himself and not get cousins "hand me downs"

  22. Rather than stripping Ben of his Brownlow, or giving it to Delsanto, the medal should be done away with full stop. After all the players get their awards within their own specific club.

All the awards are unnecessary in a team sport, and it's only the view of the green maggots.

  23. Absolutely NOT!  You cant assume he was using performance enhancing drugs at the time - there is no way of proving it.

Sure Ben is a drug addict, but you can just strip him of every past acheivement because of that.

Dal Santo needs to build a bridge and get over it.
