  1. I say sucked in to the West Coast Eagles.

When Ben gets cleaned up, he will be an awesome player again!!!

  2. The Eagle didn't have a choice but to sack him that was made perfectly clear by the AFL hierarchy earlier in the year so if you want blame someone blame the WA police they stuffed up big time.

  3. Wish everyone would stop going on about Benny being a "role model".

B0llocks to that - when did he ever sign up to be a role model for Australia's youth? He's a talented footballer, but most importantly he's a HUMAN BEING like the rest of us. "Let he who be without sin cast the first stone".

Perish the thought that there are people in this world who can actually take recreational drugs and STILL contribute to society.

He's been targetted by the coppers & media, no doubt about it. If they want to pull those sort of stunts, then we as a nation should all push for mandatory drug testing for police, politicians and journalists!!!

Hope he sues the a$$ off the AFL!!!!

  4. Oh wake up everyone. Ben Cousins is so YESTERDAY. He creates all these dramas himself. He has been supported by his club and his fans through all of this. He has had chance after chance. Ok, the police may have stuffed up this time - but what sort of role model is he? What efforts is he really making to clean up his act? If Ben Cousins does not want all the attention, he should move to some isolated cabin somewhere, clean himself up and stay away from AFL. We need to send the correct message to our youngsters. DRUG USE IS ILLEGAL! Too many chances - you or I would have been severely punished had we done half of what Ben Cousins has. Get over it. He has done wrong and has never been honest. The club and his family had to announce his problem only after it had been leaked and was at risk of being made public. If Ben was an honerable human he would have admitted his problem and dealt with it instead of playing the poor victim! Are the police going to be blamed for his 5 day (rehab?) bender? I would have hoped the police gave him a wake up call to clean up. He does not even look the same as he once did. A talent wasted - and he only has himself to blame so lets move on; the Eagles and AFL can survive without Ben Cousins and his associated dramas. The Eagles had no choice but to sack - for their own integrity. Ben and his antics combined with other off field antics by others have left the Eagles in a shamble and they need to move on without the hiccups. The AFL should also give him the punishment he deserves.

  5. Sorry mate as he had played since he had come back from the states he was no longer on sick leave so that argument is out the window the season had finished

He was hardly honest and he has brought most of his problems on himself. what will the AFL do we will have to wait till next week to find out

I don't know if anyone will take the chance on him hes nearly 30 with a bit of baggage

  6. Sorry Conda but I bet you can't show me any evidence that Ben Cousins has once taken srugs since returning from the USA mid-way through the year.

Police have dropped all charges and the only problem is that the AFL think they run the world. The Ben Cousins saga has been handled poorly by everyone involved. Everyone knows there is heaps of AFL players on drugs.

Cousins is the only one who has been honest and has tried to help himself, what have the others done? Not much...

  7. he was sacked for being dishonest mate - that's the whole problem. He was given another chance on the privoso that he avoid drugs which he agreed to do. While he was taking them he hid the fact from the eagles. WHen they found out they sacked him.

You've got it the wrong way round. Being honest only when you've been caught is not honest at all.

  8. West Coast gave him chance after chance and he blew all of them, the Eagles were right to sack him

  9. It is against the law etc,Restraint of Trade. This is why he has a lawyer representing him. If Ben comes the heavy handed tactics, he won't get a club anywhere. So I would say that his legal rep. is using a softly, softly approach.

Next Monday Ben has to front the AFL, so the public, or Ben, won't know which approach will be taken, until a decision has been made on "disrepute" charges by the AFL.

Don't you mean, Ben Cousins, that footballer, rather than that addict....
