Ben Foden all fired up to bid Tindall farewell - Rugby News Update
The Northampton star, Ben Foden, is excited to get a chance to bid farewell to former England captain Mike Tindall. The daring Tindall has been named in Barbarians' squad for this Sunday’s non-cap international match.
Tindall will try to make the most of his appearance as he will start in an experienced barbarians’ side which will be captained by former Springbok captain, John Smit. The Barbarians will also feature former England international star Paul Sackey and also
the ever so dependable Iain Balshaw.
Coach of England, Stuart Lancaster, will expect the 75-cap international will have “a point to prove” against the English team, as his controversial career ended in a dramatic note after the Rugby World Cup.
The Northampton Saints' player, Foden, has warned Tindall that England will be in form and fired up for the match prior to their three-test tour to South Africa.
"I am sure he will be looking to get a few cheap shots on us," Foden said.
"Tins will be looking forward to coming here to Twickenham and sticking it to us. It will be good to see him playing and a good way to say goodbye to Tins as well - hopefully we will stuff them," he added.
Tindall’s off-field actions at the World Cup in New Zealand led him to a £15,000 fine by the Rugby Football Union and also headlines in the news papers.
The 33-year-old Tindall was dropped from the England squad for the Six Nations tournament after a series of alcohol related issues. Foden too has been seen involved in off-field antics himself. The star full-back was caught
dancing without his clothes in a local nightclub in Barcelona which made headlines on the front page of some local news papers.
"You have to make sure you represent your country 24 hours a day. People can take videos and pictures without you even knowing. A picture speaks a thousand words and some things can be taken massively out of context."
The talented full-back admitted that controversies in the World Cup makes all the players to realize that they should be cautious when they are out in public.
