West Brom’s first choice goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ben-Foster-c7445 has stated his desire to stay with the Baggies for the rest of his career and admitted that he wants to retire at the Hawthorns.
Last season, the 29-year old shot stopper moved to West Brom last season on a season-long loan spell from relegated Birmingham City. Foster impressed everyone during his time with the club and featured regularly in most of their games.
Foster made a £4 million move to West Brom just a few weeks ago as part of a permanent deal and hopes that this will be his home for the rest of his football career. The keeper had been on Queens Park Rangers’ radar before the Baggies secured his signatures.
He is under contract with the club on a three-year contract, with the option to exctend his stay by two more years. It’s no surprise that West Brom made Foster their first ‘signing’ of the summer as he was instrumental to their success last season. The Baggies
managed ten clean sheets and enjoyed their best ever defensive record in the English top flight, conceding 52 goals in 38 games.
Foster had previously spent time at a lot of clubs on loan, undergoing 6 loan spells in 10 seasons as a professional goalkeeper. Having signed for West Brom, Foster is hoping to remain with the club till he retires and considers the move as a defining moment
of his career as a professional footballer.
Speaking to the media, Foster explained how he considers the Hawthorns his home and how his family is settling in and enjoying their life in the city.
“This will hopefully be my last move,” said Foster. “I have no interest in moving south or up north.”
“I’m from this area, my wife loves it here and the kids are going to be settling into their schools soon so we need to get them registered.”
He added: “I knew I wanted to be a West Brom player and I knew that Birmingham were in a position where they had to sell me.”
“And I didn’t really want to move anywhere else.”
West Brom manager Steve Clarke is keen on adding new faces to the squad. The Baggies will be looking to build up on last season’s success and are working on acquiring the services of Argentinean midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Claudio-Yacob-c9331 who is currently on trial with the
squad. It is expected that the club will announce his signing later today.
