At 81 yes he did bring his great wisdom to help create the constitution but you don't read where he tried to, egotistically, run for any political office either.

Obviously, he was not too old to sit on a drafting committee because he did, but he WAS to old to run for president, so he didn't.

Yeah, and right afterwards he left for France as an envoy.  Just shows how age isn't always a factor, willingness and capabilities are.
