Question:

Ben Gordon for Darko Milicic?

Ben Gordon has told reporters that he will not sign with the Chicago Bulls this offseason and does not wish to find work overseas unless he has no other options. The Bulls still need a true center. What do you think of a Darko Milicic for Ben Gordon trade straight up? Gordon wants more than the 7.2 million that Milicic makes and the Bulls refuse to go over the salary cap (they are about 8.6 million away) so if the Grizzlies (who have a huge amount of cap space) agree to take on about 3 to 4 million more a season for the productive shooting guard while letting go of the un-necessary Milicic (they just signed Marc Gasol to a three year deal and have 2 or 3 other forward/centers) this trade would be very likely to happen. What I want to know is does Milicic usually play center, is he good enough to start at center, what is his best asset (Post game, defense, hustle player... etc.), and what do you think of the trade idea? Who comes out on top and will end up the winner in this trade? BEST ANSWER WILL GET 10 POINTS!!!

  1. I think that the Bulls could get something better than Darko. Darko has been a bust in recent years and yet has to prove that he really is a player selected as the second overall draft pick.

  2. Given that Memphis already has OJ Mayo AND Rudy g*y on the perimeter as scoring guards, I find it hard for Ben Gordon to complement this young team.  Add in Jaric, and Mike Conley and they're already set at PG too.  Of course none of these guys altogether will make a contending team, but Memphis already has a young core (Conley, Mayo, g*y) that they want to develop, and if things play out their way, this 1,2,3 punch could be pretty nice in a couple seasons.  A three team deal is the only potential way in my eyes to get Gordon into Memphis or getting Milicic to the Windy City, and that seems unlikely.

Darko was also signed to a 3 year, 21 million buck deal by the Grizzlies without trading him so they are willing to see what he can do for them, and he could be a decent low post complement to the backcourt trio they have with Conley, Mayo, and g*y.

  3. it will be hard for gordon to get traded because of the money he wants so he might as well go play overseas because he wont get the money he wants here in the nba.

  4. no

  5. porbably caz the Bulls need a post player and Milic is good for them. Milic is an underachieving *** and he blames ppl for his own mistakes.

  6. Milicic has been a waste of a 1st overall pick since 03'.  He has had recurring leg and foot problems for the last couple years, and the Bulls wouldn't want another unproductive center to go along with Aaron Gray, Tyrus Thomas, and my boy Joakim Noah.  Ben Gordon said that its LIKELY he won't sign with the Bulls.  I take that as him saying that he's going to try and get more money but if worst comes to worst he wants to keep that door open with the Bulls.  And again, I don't think the Grizzlies would want him to take over Mayo or g*y's spot.  Plus, if they get rid of Milicic, as trerrible as he is, they will have to rely on an unproven Marc Gasol (who wasn't great for Spain these last couple weeks).  In conclunsion, I don't think this trade will happen since its not good for the Griz...they don't NEED ben gordon.

  7. I'm not sure that Grizzlies would want to trade their huge salary cap-space for a player who going to whine and cry about making the most money in the team.

Besides, why would the Grizzlies want another guard???

The Grizzlies need interior players.  They got more than enough guards and I doubt Ben "Ballhog" Gordon would be starting over OJ "Ballhog" Mayo since he's being hailed as the future of the team.

Rudy g*y has been thrown into the backseat because his jersey just won't sell!  You brought a g*y jersey yet?
