Ben Roberts making the most out of National Rugby League recall
Ben Roberts of the Bulldogs is exhibiting his best form to justify his recall by his future employee, Parramattas Eels, after the end of 2011 season.
Roberts is a New Zealand professional rugby League player who is presently playing for an Australian professional rugby league football club, Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs. He joined the Bulldogs in 2006 and his term with Bulldogs will finish off by the
end of 2011.
From the next season onwards, Roberts will join Parramatta Eels, which is an Australian franchise.
While indicating that his highest priority was the performance at Paramattas for next season and Roberts further stated, “That's one of the main goals of mine, I'm not going to lose any focus with that.”
According to him all his energy is channeled to do his best for the Bulldogs. His joining in with the Eels next season is not going to hamper his performance with Bulldogs this season. He also added that he will deliver the best possible way, in accordance
with the wishes of his current coach, Jim Dymock. On July 14, Dymock took over as the head coach of Bulldogs, when Kevin Moore stood down from his office .
Roberts further added, “You've got Haynesy there who's capable of playing that position and doing a really good job at it. All I can really do is put my head down and bum up and train hard and let the coach know that I'm ready to play."
Roberts said that winding up with Bull dogs will be used to show his future employer that the recruitment made by them is worth it.
It was further revealed by him that he has moved up in the ranking as the Test player under the brilliant coaching of Dymock. Roberts reckons that this promotion in terms of his performance is due the guidelines laid down by his coach, in such a short span
of time.
Just two weeks as coach of Bulldogs, he is able to replicate his personal touch, which is bringing back memories from the time when Dymock was playing as lock on the squad.
Roberts further appreciated his coach by saying that he is the kind of coach who wants his team to “actually play the game” and by allowing the player to throw the ball around. He further shared that the secret behind Dymock’s successful run both as a player
and coach lies in the fact that he is well aware of the individual skills of his entire outfit. This attribute is driven from the fact that he himself loved to throw around the ball back in his own times.
This personal touch of Dymock keeps the entire squad happy with him and subsequently more willing to exhibit their best game.
