Ben Saunders eager to show off his skills at Bellator 67 – UFC News
Ben Saunders, 28, is eager to show off his Muay Thai skills at the Bellator 67 event taking place on May 4 against Bryan Baker. The fight will be a part of the MTV2-televised semi-finals being held at the Casino Rama in Rama, Ontario, Canada.
Bryan Baker, who stands with 17 wins and 3 losses in MMA and 7 wins and 2 losses in BFC, will come face to face with probably one of the most dangerous UFC fighters today, who thinks of his opponent’s body as a mere ‘canvas’.
While talking about his upcoming bout against Baker, Saunders said, “I will admit I really do look at my opponents face and body as a canvas. Not out of disrespect, I love to see my work. I would love a picture of a swollen eye the day after, when it's probably
at its worse. I go for the finish. I go for the kill. But I'm not looking to go anything past what the fight needs to take. But while we're in there ... you signed those papers. You're trying to do the same to me. I'm just trying to do it to you first. "(I'm
trying to) make you lose some teeth, break an orbital.”
Saunders, who feels he has all, was unable to get his desired finish at Bellator 63 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. He lost the fight against Amaya and was unable to beat his opponent the way he says he can.
Baker, Saunders’ next opponent, commented on his fight saying he watched it live and it appeared to him that both the fighters made the fight slow paced and maybe the weight cut had affected Saunders. He further added that he knows Saunders is a veteran
of the sport and that he has been around for a while, taking out some of the toughest opponent. He added that just for Saunders he will not change his style and that he does not really care who he is fighting and what his style is. He said that for him what
matters is how he is prepared and that he should give out his best.
