Ben Spies not continuing with Yamaha Factory Racing for 2013 season – MotoGP news
Ben spies, the current Yamaha Factory Racing rider will not be continuing with Yamaha in the upcoming 2013 MotoGP season.
Some rumours say that Valentino Rossi will be replacing Ben in team Yamaha.
Commenting on the news, the championship leader, Jorge Lorenzo said that it is sad to know that Spies will not be continuing with Yamaha in the upcoming season. Moreover, Lorenzo said that Spies was an old rider of Yamaha and has wished him luck for his
future.
Furthermore, the CEO of Yamaha has appreciated the potential of Spies and said that he is a good rider.
Besides, he said that he looking forward towards his next teammate in Yamaha.
Lorenzo said, “It’s sad news to hear that Ben is not continuing. For Yamaha it’s really sad, because he has been a Yamaha rider for a long time. I think he has great potential, and I wish him good luck in the future.”
Furthermore, the Spaniard said that he has heard some rumours that Rossi will be racing for Yamaha as his teammate. He has appreciated this because they were good teammates in the past and said that he will be pleased if this news materialises.
The championship leader further said that he will prefer having a competitive teammate.
He said, “I hear some rumours. And some rumours say that Valentino is going to come back. It could be a good thing for Yamaha. We have been a good couple in the past years, but it hasn’t been decided yet. My preference is to have a competitive rival in
the team.”
Lorenzo said that he is looking forward towards Laguna Seca as it is the circuit he enjoys racing on. Furthermore, that his bike is in a good shape and he hopes to keep the 19-point championship lead he currently has.
Laguna Seca is a circuit situated in California, America and has a length of 2.243 miles. It consists of 11 curves with 7 left corners and 4 right corners.
All the records for this track which include fastest lap record, circuit Record, best pole time, top speed are held by Casey Stoner currently racing for Repsol Honda Team.
