Ben Westwood is all set for action in Four Nations - Rugby League

While talking to reporters on Sunday, October 16, Warrington Wolves’ forward, Ben Westwood, confirmed  that he is all ready to set foot into the National Rugby League (NRL) Gillette Four Nations campaign after his impressive performance in the inaugural
game of England Knights’ vs France.
The forward has been out of practice, with only one appearance to his credit because of a knee injury which had forced him into a low profile during the past two months of his recovery period.
However, his on-field spell changed everything because the prop managed to boot a couple of impressive hits, which had led his side to a win of 38-18 over France at the Leigh Sports Village.
While talking about his 60-minute stint during Saturday night’s clash, Westwood said, “I've blown a few cobwebs off and hopefully I'm ready for the tournament. With me only playing 40 minutes in nine weeks, it was something I really needed. We've got these
(the French) again next week and hopefully I'll get a few more minutes in that game and then I'll be match-fit and ready to go. My knee has held up pretty good. I haven't felt it since and my body is feeling fine after a good rest."
England coach, Kieron Purtill, was pleased with the contribution from the veteran and said, "I thought Ben was fantastic. He's been with the top squad all week but he's been great around the camp.”
While talking about how well Ben had played against the French side, the coach also acknowledged that the players who have the privilege of playing alongside such a brilliant player should consider themselves lucky because on the whole he is an institution
in itself and may act as a learning catalyst for others.
This year Westwood’s position in the Four Nations squad has been endangered by the call-up of Chris Heighington, despite the fact that the 30-year-old veteran has 16 English caps to his credit so far.
When asked about his position in the English call-up, he answered that if he gets lucky he will play his best and will not let this chance go to waste.
