Ben Youngs is optimistic about England’s chances
England scrum-half Ben Youngs suggested that England are very optimistic about beating the All Blacks at Twickenham on Saturday 6 November.
The scrum-half believes that England are starting to fulfil their potential after a couple of desperate seasons.
England coach Martin Johnson seems to have turned results around after their impressive tour of Australia, in which they drew the series 1-1 and beat Australia 20-21 in Sydney.
The team’s unlucky 12-10 defeat away to France in the Six Nations paved the way for their result in Australia and Johnson has gradually grown into the role of coach.
Speaking to the press, the 21-year-old Youngs said, "There's a huge amount of enthusiasm and a real buzz, and an excitement about where we are compared to the best teams in the world, and that's down to the win in Sydney."
Youngs played a crucial role on his debut in England’s victory and scored an important try to win the match against Australia.
“It was a very special moment for me—it helped us kick on and win the game. To score for England on your full debut is always going to feel good."
The England international will now start his second match and the player appears to have already established himself as the new scrum-half for England after impressing for club and country.
Youngs speed of pass is something that his rivals for the England scrum-half position do not possess and he will be hoping to use this to his advantage over the Autumn Internationals.
The England international admitted that he is looking forward to testing himself against the All Blacks in what will be his second start.
The scrum-half feels that the positive attitude in the camp and their recent form will give them confidence ahead of the game.
"It's very obvious in the camp. Everyone is very excited and can't wait to see how we fare against the All Blacks," said Youngs.
