  1. 1: The previous answerer has the right of it. Men like to think they're original, and learn better by example than by lecture. Don't teach them, show them how to do it, and/or let them think it was their idea.

2: People who are not modest have no sense. A lack of modesty could be two things. Excessive pride is one, constantly bragging and making everyone hate you. Sexual immodesty is the other, being promiscuous and immoral so that people don't respect you.

3: This refers to the tendency people have toward thinking that the way things are is the way things have always been, and the way things ought to be. People see only "the closest link of the chain" - that is, the way they're held down now. It doesn't occur to people that past times might have been more free than we are now, or differently free. This is the same philosophy of "the world you see is a prison for your mind" that was in the first Matrix movie.

  2. lol the first one is that men are quite proud and stubborn and are quick to say "i knew that" so if you have a point, lead them on insight to insight making it seem like THEY are the ones that thought of them and that you are an amazing woman being able to keep up with him.
