Benbo 1 ball head sticky

Question

Own a Benbo 1 w/ ball head that have not used in years. In good working order I can s***w the tripod mount plate into bottom of 35mm camera for instance. The condition its in now I have to do the reverse ..... s***w the camera in essence on to tripod head. Is there quick fix lubricant/coating that can be applied to resurrect normal function .... aka .... like the Tinman in the Wizard of Oz? Or am I #@!! --- even though were in a recession have to pack up my ballhead, ship it off to Benbo, and help bail them out too. I pray its the former! [e-mail]
