Bence Biczo and Eva Risztov impress in Debrecen: Hungarian Long Course Nationals 2011
Biczo and Risztov impressed the arena with their scintillating swims on day two of the Hungarian Long Course Nationals 2011, held at Debrecen, Hungary, on June 24, 2011.
In the initial race, Bence Biczo took home the Men’s 200m butterfly crown with a winning time of 1 minutes and 54.79 seconds and improved to top spot in the international swimming rankings of the current year. Despite Biczo’s spirited effort, Takeshi Matsuda
of Japan retained the fastest time of 1 minute and 54.12 seconds, which he set in 2011.
Laszlo Cseh secured the second spot in the Men’s 200m butterfly with a time of 1 minute and 55.98 seconds. The win elevated him to seventh place in the international swimming rankings. David Verraszto rounded out the top three in the respective meet with
a time of 1 minute and 58.09 seconds.
After securing the second fastest time of the year, Bence Biczo was very excited and pleased with his individual performance in the 200m butterfly.
In the Women’s 800m freestyle event, Eva Risztov snagged the golden crown with a victorious time of 8 minutes and 29.23 seconds. Owing to her impressive swim, Risztov moved to the 12th spot in the international swimming rankings.
Boglarka Kapas captured the silver medal in the respective race with a time of 8 minutes and 35.78 seconds, while Vivieri Kadas snared bronze in a time of 8 minutes and 48.71 seconds.
In another meet, Risztov took home the Women’s 400m freestyle crown with a winning time of 4 minutes and 07.99 seconds, to improve to 20th spot in the world rankings.
Zsuzsanna Jakabos won the silver medal in the respective category with a time of 4 minutes 10.14 seconds, while Boglarka Kapas rounded out the top three in a time of 4 minutes and 10.76 seconds.
The second day’s night of the Hungarian Long Course Nationals 2011 was completely dominated by Eva Risztov, who nabbed two titles in the Women’s 800m freestyle and 400m freestyle events, respectively. Given the current form she is in, Risztov is sure to
impress in upcoming competitive swimming events.
