Bence Pulai secures Men’s 200m butterfly gold – Swimming news
Bence Pulai of Hungary secured gold medal of the Men’s 200m butterfly on second day of the 2013 Sette Colli Trophy Meet in Rome, Italy on Friday, June 14.
The Hungarian veteran stifled hopes of his opponents in the 200m discipline as he sprinted his way towards the finishing end for first position. He faced serious threat from his following swimmer in the four-lap discipline but he succeeded in out-performing
him over the finishing end for the title.
With his impeccable pace, Pulai managed to obtain the title by producing an effort of 1 minute and 58.46 seconds.
The champion was chased by Francesco Pavone of Italy, who was 0.14 seconds slower and touched the wall for silver medal by posting an effort of 1 minute and 58.60 seconds.
Matteo Pelizzari, who suffered a loss of 0.03 seconds from his former finisher and surfaced on the finishing end for bronze medal by clocking a time of 1 minute and 58.63 seconds, traced the second best finisher.
Fourth position of the event was obtained by Leonardo De Deus of Brazil, who was just an inch slower from securing his spot on the victory stand as he concluded his swim in a time of 1 minute and 58.66 seconds.
The Brazilian swimmer was chased by Jordan Coelho of France, who was only 0.14 seconds away from his preceding swimmer and touched the finishing end for fifth place with an effort of 1 minute and 58.80 seconds.
Alexandru Coci of Romania, who was 0.05 seconds behind and tapped the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 58.85 seconds, obtained sixth position of the event.
Gherardo Bruni of Italy, who was just 0.02 seconds apart and posted a time of 1 minute and 59.87 seconds, chased Coci.
Niccolo Beni, who was unable to upset any of his challengers and posted 2 minutes and 00.33 seconds, obtained eighth position of the race.
In addition, Pulai was overjoyed with his notable form in the race while the winners received accolades at the victory ceremony of the race.
