Question:

Bench-press exercises?

I've been going to the gym for some time now, and i have a question about the bench press exercises. There is a wide grip bench press, a narrow grip bench press and a bench press when the bench is set 30 degrees.

so i go 6 times a week to the gym, and one of the days i do the wide bench the other day i do the 30 degree bench. but was wondering, can i do the narrow grip bench on the same day when i do the 30 degree bench?

since i heard you can't do both types of the bench at the same day but i don't know if that goes for the narrow grip bench too.

can anyone help me out?

  1. Yes you can do them on the same day, and it's a good idea to do so.  What is a bad idea is benching 6 days a week (I'm not sure by your question if you do, but I kinda think it's implied).  You should take at least a day off in between each day of benching in order for your muscles to repair.  Check this out:

  2. Not sure where you got your information but, you can do them on the same day.  all work your chest, they just hit different areas of the chest and make a better chest workout especially if you do a circuit workout.  With the narrow grip you get more of a workout for your triceps as well as your chest.

    Hope this helps

  3. Narrow grip bench press- for triceps and chest

    Wide grip-shoulder and chest

30 degree bench -- for upper chest

Do narrow grip bench on tricep day but it won't harm if you do on same day.
