What is the difference between benchmarking and reengineering

  1. Benchmarking is the process of taking the best in the industry and seeing their performance levels and then trying to match up to them. Whereas Re-engineering is looking internally and improving processes and gaining efficiencies.

    So one looks externally while the other looks internally.
