Bendzoldan expected to win the Dundalk Stadium On Facebook Handicap
Bendzoldan has been rated as favourite for the Dundalk Stadium On Facebook Handicap at Dundalk in Ireland on Wednesday, April 4, 2012. The triumphant horse will walk away with a cash prize of €4,830.
Going will be standard in the 7 furlong race, which is scheduled to start at 7:20 GMT, and following are the entries confirmed for it: Kalacan, Heir To The Mint, Bendzoldan, Translator, Naked Cowboy, Diamond Fire, The Gnathologist, Refuse To Sell, Via Mia,
Zafaraan, Give Me Shelter, Indian Luck and Polly Ella.
The bookies have shown confidence in the abilities of Bendzoldan, despite the fact that she has been out of form over the past few months. The punters will be a touch hesitant over placing bets in her favour, but they might miss an opportunity to win some
easy money at the end of the day.
Mrs John Harrington’s trainee has entered 17 races overall, winning a couple of them. In addition to that, she has also managed to secure a couple of third place finishes as well, which indicates that she has got a potential to fight at the top of the order.
The four-year-old filly has not been in good form recently, as she finished 11th in her most recent run. She was performing quite consistently at one stage of her career, but lost momentum afterwards.
Bendzoldan will be partnered by F. M. Berry, who has enjoyed some success at this level, but needs to make a significant improvement in his overall strike rate.
Kalacan will be the other one to watch out for in today’s race, as he is an experienced runner. He has taken part in 37 races overall, winning just one of them. His strike rate is very poor, thus the punters might not be risking a lot of money in his favour.
Mrs Denise Foster’s trained gelding has performed well in recent times though, as he finished runner up in his most recent run. He is expected to carry a similar momentum at Dundalk in order to fight for victory.
The six-year-old runner will be ridden by W. J. Lee, who is relatively new to the sport, but has got an impressive strike rate till date.
It will be hard for the rest of the runners to match the skills and experience of the top two favourites.
