Bendzoldan favourite for Play The Tote Placepot Handicap (Div II)
Bendzoldan has got a solid chance of winning the Play The Tote Placepot Handicap (Div II) at Naas in Ireland on Wednesday, June 27, 2012. The winner of the 7 furlong event will grab a cash prize of €4,830.
The action at Naas will begin at 19:30 GMT, and a total of 16 runners will be up against each other.
Most of the participants have been struggling for form over the past few events, which will make things easy for Bendzoldan, as she is carrying the winning momentum right now.
The four-year-old filly has got very good speed, which will help her make a solid impression at Naas. She has had a few hiccups in her career, but things have changed in recent times.
Bendzoldan’s start to her career was a good one, finishing third in her debut race. However, she had to wait for four races before breaking her maiden win in the sport. She was sent into that race without the best of odds, but surprised one and all with her speed.
Afterwards, the Mrs John Harrington’s trainee brought up another victory in the 2010 season, which would have given a lot of hope to her owner, Jarlath Smyth.
However, things did not work out well for the daughter of Refuse To Bend, out of mare Zoldan, in 2011, as she was unable to win even a single race.
Moreover, she failed to finish in the top three that year, let alone a victory.
Despite a series of lackluster performances, Mrs John Harrington did not lose hope, and continued the hard work with her filly, who improved dramatically over the past few events.
Although, Bendzoldan did not start the 2012 season ideally, she displayed some solid form in her previous three races, by winning a couple of them and finishing as a runner-up once.
She will be runner for a hat-trick in today's event, and it will be difficult for her opponents to prevent her from doing so.
The favourite runner will be coupled with jockey, F. M. Berry, who has earned a few victories at this level, but does not have a good strike rate.
Other than Bendzoldan, July Revolution will also be the one to watch out for, as he has managed to impress the bookies more than anyone.
