Benedikt Howedes determined to prove himself against Ukraine and Netherlands - International News
Having earned himself a berth in the Germany squad for the upcoming international friendlies, Schalke defender Benedikt Howedes recently revealed his desire to be a part of Joachim Low’s starting XI. He also wished to cement his place in the national side

The Schalke centre-back has expressed delight at his appointment to face the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753. He seemed determined to make full use of this opportunity. 
Benedikt was confident of making the cut for the first team against Ukraine on Friday and wished to impress his manager in order to retain his place for Tuesday’s game.
The centre-back also confirmed of his fitness, which had raised a few eyebrows upon his selection. He told that he is fully fit and raring to go in order to silence his critics. 
The centre-back added that he would adjust to any role in defence in order to serve his country for a long time. Howedes, at the same time, admitted of competition within the team but seemed confident of getting through it without any trouble.
While talking to Goal.com, the 23-year-old further enthused:
"We are always pleased to travel with the national team. There is always international experience at stake and it's unique. Whether [the experience] is in the starting line-up, that remains to be seen, but I think there are two or three other players who
are fighting for a starting berth in defence.”
Benedikt also added, "Of course I am trying to attract attention with my performances, but where I play is decided by the coach."
The defender has been in prime form so far for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Royal-95-c40387 Blues and is an integral member of his side. The player, though, has failed to make same impression for his country and is still fighting for a permanent place in Joachim Low’s team.
