Benefit claim whilst pregnant in the UK?

Im really stressing about this now.

Im 26weeks pregnant and even though i work and am entitled to SMP i wish to leave and recieve income support instead. Can i do this?

Im really getting stressed out now!

  1. if you leave your work without being fire or without a medical reason you might not be intilted to anything, also even if you are intilted you wont get it until 11weeks before your baby is due, so you can not put a claim in until you are 29+weeks, also you will only get £59.15 per week on income support until your baby is born, then you may be intilted to tax credit which is £56.46 per week, you can only claim all of this if your a single parent if you are with someone ie living with someone or married and your partner works your not intilted to anything, but you can get more on this matter at your local job centre of Citizen advice both would be able to help you much better than anyone on here, also if you do want to claim make sure you have a MAT B1 so you can prove when your due date is etc...
