  1. Children learn everything from play.  How to socialize, how to behave, how to count, learn their letters, cause and effect.  It's really amazing how much they do learn from play

  2. through play a child can learn many things about the world around them.

the benefits of play vary depending on the types of toys and the age and stage of the child.

a child is learning and developing many skills through muscles movement, hand and eye co-ordination,control, they learn about shapes, colour, texture, size.

as they get older a child learns social skills through play, such as sharing, turn taking, they learn different roles through role play and imaginative play.

    look at it this way.

a child is like a blank canvas, and in order for him or her to grow and learn you need to offer a stimulus for them, it could be something as simple as a cardboard box: a child will play and learn that that this box is an empty confined space, that could become a space ship, or a car, or it could be something for them to simply jump in and out of.

benefits of play are endless.......just sit and observe a child at play and really look at how they are playing.

  3. not a simple question so many to list from cognative development to physical dexterity everything they do and touch helps when they are little they develope fine motor skills that are necesary later in life for writting and manipulating anything in their hands as they get older play is a big part of socialization and interpersonal communication. following directions to games teaches them stucuture and organization... I could go on forever but you get the idea
