Benefits and drawbacks of speedos?

What are the benefits and drawbacks of a speedo for a 12 year old? How should I go about obtaining them?

A benefit for a 12 yr old would be flexibility you would be able to move easily but a draw back would be any mishap. Wedgie, a ball falling out, or even worse shrinkage or hard-on.

Benefits are less water drag, better tan, dries quicker after coming out of the water.

Drawbacks are most Americans have a problem with people that aren't afraid to show off their body and frown upon speedos. The other drawback is if you get an erection, you can't hide it.

I don't do things just because everyone else does. I prefer to do what I feel is best for me at the time. If you want to wear one, go for it. Go to a sport store that has them or go to www.swimoutlet.com

Benefits: You won't drag in the water (racing wise), and it'll make you go a lot faster.

Drawbacks: It can feel a little too snug, but after a few uses, it'll stretch out, enough to be comfortable.

The benefits of wearing a brief style swimsuit (aka speedo) are they allow for full range of motion when swimming, dry quickly and allow you to get a great tan!  They also are easy to travel with as they don't weigh much and don't take up much space in your luggage.  The drawbacks primarily are your friends reactions.  Briefs/speedos tend not to be accepted in the USA and you can be ridiculed for your choice.  Back to the benefits, it shows you are your own person and willing to stand up for your preferences instead of following the crowd.

Speedos are horrible!  I don't care what the age is, but unless a person is on the swim team (in which case, Speedos are usually the uniform), no one should be running around in one of those!
