  1. I'm considering getting a Political Science degree, and myabe doing an internship at a US Embassy or Consulate (London or Toronto would be nice).

    Any advice?

Are there lists of all US Embassies/Consulates worldwide?

Are there lists of all foreign Embassies/Consulates in the US?

  2. In my opinion we are very lucky people. The Embassy pays for your childs education at a private school in the country or if you are at a "Danger Post" they will pay for your child to go to a boarding school of your choice. They pay for your housing, electric, and water. They actually find your housing for you. You get the Diplomatic Pouch which means you can still order your "special" stuff from the U.S. ((we do our grocery shopping online and we live in Africa)).lol. mmmmm. you get 2 R&R's a year plus a home leave that they pay for, and if the flight is over a certain number of hours they will pay for you and your family to go to business class (its the best :D). That is about all I can think about at the moment. But after living this life for 3 years with my parents I want to do the same after I graduate college. You get to travel and have a good life while at it.

    Definently great.

oh oh. also. there is a doctor that works at the Embassy so if you get sick you don't have to look far. and if its serious they will "med-evac" you. that is also a benefit.

  3. Working for an embassy is the same as working for any multi-national corporation.  Benefits vary by type of employment and the countries in question.  What type of benefits are you referring to?
